September marks a special milestone for Amend Massage Therapy — one full year at my current location!
It’s hard to believe it has already been a year. When I moved into this space in September 2025, I was excited to create a comfortable, peaceful place where clients could come for both therapeutic and medical massage. Over the past year, the practice has continued to grow, and I am incredibly grateful for the trust my clients have placed in me.
As a solo massage therapist, every appointment on my schedule represents time that has been reserved specifically for one person. Many of my clients schedule their appointments well in advance, and I frequently have other clients waiting and hoping for an opening.
With that growth, I’ve realized it is also time to make an important update to my cancellation policy.
Updated Cancellation Policy
Effective September 2026, the following cancellation policy will apply:
- 24 hours or more notice: You may cancel or reschedule your appointment at no charge.
- Less than 24 hours notice: A fee equal to 50% of the scheduled session fee will apply.
- No-call/no-show: A fee equal to 100% of the scheduled session fee will apply.
For Medical Massage appointments, the session fee used to calculate the cancellation or no-show charge will be based on your insurance company’s fee schedule for the scheduled appointment, rather than the amount you normally pay out of pocket. These fees are the client’s responsibility and are not billed to insurance.
Any cancellation or no-show fee will need to be paid out of pocket at your next scheduled session before your appointment can proceed.
I understand that illnesses, emergencies, and unexpected situations happen. Exceptions may be made at my discretion when circumstances warrant them.
Why the Change?
Because I operate a solo practice, a last-minute cancellation can be difficult to fill. Even when I have clients waiting for an appointment, an hour or two of notice usually isn’t enough time for someone else to rearrange their day and take the opening.
The goal of this policy isn’t to penalize anyone. It’s to encourage as much notice as possible so that when you can’t make an appointment, I have an opportunity to offer that time to another client who may be waiting for care.
Thank You for an Amazing First Year
Most importantly, thank you.
The growth of Amend Massage Therapy over this past year has happened largely because clients continue to return, recommend my practice to friends and family, and trust me with their care. As a small, solo business, those referrals mean more than you may realize.
I’m also continuing to make improvements to the office so that your experience is comfortable from the moment you arrive until the time you leave.
I’m excited to see what year two brings and look forward to continuing to provide a welcoming space for relaxation, therapeutic massage, and medical massage here in Yakima.
Thank you for an incredible first year and for respecting both my time and the appointment times of your fellow clients.
